Ann Houghton, photographer for the Willunga Birds publication will help us learn about how to identify birds, showing how different certain birds are between male/female, and use an app called Australian Birds by Michael Morecombe to identify bird calls. You will see plenty of photos and have many opportunitites to ask questions as well as bring in any photos or bird calls you may need identified. Ann and others lead our birdy outings and has a wealth of knowledge stored. She travels extensively with her Husband Les on Birdy outings across Australia, and with many other groups.
(The app gives you a picture of the selected bird which also points out various features of the bird along with a written description plus a map showing the range and distribution. The most helpful part of the app is the bird calls and the various calls each bird makes including their ‘alarm’ call. It is an easy app to use and costs $29.99 A good investment but not necessary for the workshop)
